John is originally from Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Navy, onboard the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier, as part of the Beirut-Lebanon Peacekeeping Force. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1987, John earned a B.S. in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University and a Master of Taxation from Temple University.
John spent the first 12 years of his career at the Big Four accounting firms in Philadelphia. He moved to Florida in 2004 to accept a CFO position at a real estate development company in Deerfield Beach, FL. After spending 5 years as a CFO in both construction and financial services, he returned to public accounting.
During his 30-year career, he spent 10 years practicing almost exclusively in the International Tax arena in Coral Gables, FL. John was a shareholder of the firm in Coral Gables. He is very familiar with inbound and outbound tax planning, as well as preimmigration planning and various other international tax issues. He is also very familiar with S-Corporation and Partnership taxation, as well as estate tax planning, and consulting for high-net-worth individuals.
In his free time, John enjoys offshore fishing, travel, classic cars, winemaking, and riding his Harley Davidson.
